Toyota has just introduced the 2015 Alphard in Japan featuring a thoroughly redesigned exterior and interior. The Japanese automaker says the minivan is poised to deliver “unshakable presence with a comfortable ride and exceptional handling.”

The rear of the minivan has a redesigned roof spoiler and restyled bumper. It also has new taillights that wraps around the rear fender. In addition, the rear of the 2015 Alphard features a U-shaped structure that merges the taillights with the license plate garnish.
Inside, Toyota says the interior height of the 2015 Alphard measures 1400 mm and now has a 148-liter cargo area under the third row seat. The interior features a two-tone theme of crème and black along with silver accents and wood trims. The cabin is illuminated with LED lights that are mounted on the roof. The LED roof illumination has four brightness level and sixteen color variations.
Other features of the 2015 Alphard includes redesigned suspension, panoramic view monitor, parking assist and collision-avoidance system.
Under the hood, the 2015 Alphard is powered by an array of engines including a 2.5-liter 2AR-FE that delivers 183 PS. It is mated to a seven-speed Sports Sequential Shiftmatic Super CVT-i transmission. The 2015 Alphard can also be equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 2GR-FE engine that generates 280 PS, connected to a six-speed Super ECT automatic transmission. Lastly, Toyota is offering a hybrid engine that combines a 152 PS 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle engine to a 143 PS electric motor at the front and a 68 PS at the rear.
Sources indicate that this 2015 Alphard appears to be slated for its Philippine release very soon.
