PGA Cars, the official distributor of Porsche cars in the Philippines, has just unveiled the all-new Panamera in the country. For now, the distributor has brought in the most powerful model in the range, the Panamera Turbo.
At the heart of the Panamera Turbo is a 4.0 liter, twin turbo V8 which is exclusive to this model at the moment. It punches out a hefthy 550 PS and a whopping 770 Nm of torque and transfers its power to all four wheels. The Panamera Turbo shifts via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission which may soon see service in the next-generation 911. According to figures provided by Porsche, the Panamera Turbo does 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, to a top speed of 306 km/h.
Standard on the Porsche Panamera Turbo are bespoke 20-inch alloy wheels with 275/40/R20 tires in front and 315/35/R20 tires at the rear. Stopping power is provided by 410 mm six-piston brakes in front and 380mm four-piston brakes at the back. It also comes with air suspension supplemented by Porsche Active Suspension.
The all-new Panamera's design is an evolutionary take from the previous generation model, along with elements from current Porsches. At the front are large air intakes to feed air to the turbochargers and the headlights have been reshaped with a distinct LED light pattern. On to its side, it retains the familiar Panamera profile with its rounded rear window treatment. At the rear, it follows the form of the 991 series 911 with slim LED units. Like the previous model, it too comes with a pop-out rear spoiler.
Inside, the instrument cluster is a mix of analogue and digital gauges. The tachometer and speedometer are analogue while three dials, serving as vehicle information displays, are digital. At the middle is a wide touchscreen that serves as the car's infotainment system and drive select modes. The automatic climate control utilizes a touch panel while the gear selector is now an electro-mechanical unit. There is also a touch panel for the rear passengers as well.
