The Genesis Coupe is a follow up to the technological success that is the Genesis Sedan, and is no less advanced than its four door sibling. Roughly a 10 minute walk from the Insular Life building at the corner of Ayala Avenue and Paseo de Roxas, Hyundai's new HQ is designed by world-class firm Casas+Architects (formerly Recio+Casas) and totes a marriage of classic and refreshingly modern architectural elements. For visual impact, architect Meloy Casas emphasized the use of glass and metal to accentuate the building's exterior, while inside brings a clean, simplistic elegance and creates a refreshing workplace ambience. "It is a step forward to a fresh and a very updated design; it communicates Hyundai's progressive approach in designing its cars. We tried to provide them generous space planning. We see to it that all departments, all bodies, and personnel will have sufficient areas. We were after clean lines, a timeless look, so that we know that from now on and beyond maybe 10 or 25 years, it must still look new. So we made use of timeless materials like natural stone, wood; we also used special effects like illuminated marble panels, faux stone materials," said Casas on how the building's interior design adheres to Hyundai's refined and confident stance as an automaker. Another exciting feature that Ayala's urbanites might find brilliant in 6787 is its changing color light display which makes use of the latest energy efficient lighting. Another environmentally-sound design solution to the improvements on the exterior fa�ade that also highlights the functionality of the structure is the "double wall" feature. Natural light and ventilation is afforded to the building through a pattern of reflective glass, which will keep heat out, and perforated metal panels, which will enable the building to "breathe." This pattern is based on the existing architectural grid of the building and provides added thermal and acoustic insulation. In addition, the architectural firm also found ways for the building to conserve water through a rain water collecting system so as to maximize the use of such an important basic resource.
