Honda is set to launch the all-new Civic Type R in its homeland on September 29. In preparation for its arrival, the automaker recently made available the plethora of Modulo accessories that can be fitted on the tenth-generation hot hatch.
Beginning with the exterior, the front grill and top portions of the headlights can come with a three-piece garnish painted red. Custom side mirror caps will also be available and are available in two color options, Crystal Red or Crystal Black. On the other hand, the foglights and doors visors can be tinted yellow.
But perhaps one of the accessories that will be sought after by enthusiasts are the 20-inch ten-spoke alloy wheels finished in Championship White. They will reportedly retail for JPY 270,000. Further back, a lightweight carbon fiber rear wing can be installed on the hatch. It comes with a red-colored weave pattern and shaves about a kilogram of weight from the car.
Inside, the tenth-gen Type R will be available with the following: aluminum shift knob with red leather wrapping, red carbon fiber accents on the dashboard, center console and door panels and red ambient lighting for the footwells, door pockets and door handles. There will also be Type R-specific black/red carpets and illuminated door sill plates.
In review, the all-new Civic Type R is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged Earth Dreams inline-four. It pushes out 310 PS along with 400 Nm of torque. It is exclusively mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and benefits from rev match technology (which can be turned off).
All 100 units of the Honda Civic Type R earmarked for the Philippines have all been spoken for. There is no word yet if Honda Cars Philippines Inc will accept more orders, nor will they offer the new Modulo acccessories.
