Apart from the new Outback, Motor Image Pilipinas (MIP) has also launched the 2015 Legacy at this year's Manila International Auto Show.
It has body dimensions that measure 4,796mm long, 1,840mm wide and 1,500mm tall, making it 66mm longer, 60mm wider and 5mm lower compared to its predecessor. Even though they kept its wheelbase at 2,750mm, the extended body provided an additional 45 liters of interior space while the trunk gets nearly 425 liters of space, 10 liters more than the outgoing model.
Up front, the 2015 Legacy gets a new headlight design along with a revamped bumper and a body-integrated hexagonal grill that gives the car a sleeker, coupe-like profile as Subaru claimed. It also has an aluminum hood that reduces weight over the front wheels and provides better steering response according to the automaker.
At the side, it has wide wheel arches and a distinct character line that runs from the front door up to the rear quarter panel. The rear on the other hand is fitted with trapezoidal taillights, a lip spoiler and a muscular bumper.
Inside, the 2015 Legacy gets leather seats with the driver's side getting a 8-way power adjustable feature with memory function. It also gets a touchscreen infotainment system, dual zone climate control and a new Eco gauge for promoting fuel efficient driving.
Under the hood, the 2015 Legacy can either be powered by a 2.5-liter Boxer engine boxer engine or a 3.6-liter flat-six engine. The smaller engine develops 176 PS and 236 Nm of torque while the larger unit generates 260 PS and 335 Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a six-speed Lineartronic CVT that runs on Subaru's Symmetrical AWD system.
Helping the car handle better are retuned springs and dampers, a quick-ratio electric power steering system and a retuned suspension geometry. Other system aids that are present on the all-new Legacy include Active Torque Vectoring, Hill Holder and Hill Descent Control.
