Mika Hakkinen, 1998 and 1999 Formula One World Champion and Johnnie Walker's Responsible Drinking Ambassador is in town as part of Johnnie Walker's Step Inside The Circuit Party Series.

At a launch event at Ayala Tower One, Mika Hakkinen, the Flying Finn himself, enjoins Filipinos to Join The Pact, Johnnie Walker's initiative for responsible drinking and to never drive afterwards.

"Joint The Pact dives deeply into a relevant key social issue that cuts across whatever city, country or part of the world you may be and I am delighted to continue my role as the Johnnie Walker Responsible Drinking Ambassador with this visit to the Philippines," says the two-time F1 Champion.

The event was attended by Makati Mayor Jun-Jun Binay, Mika Hakkinen, Diageo (the distributor of the Johnnie Walker brand in the country) executives and representatives from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.

"The City of Makati places high regard and dedication for road safety and its enforcement," says Makati Mayor Jun-Jun Binay. "Recognizing the similar aims of 'Join the Pact' and of the City of Makati, I assure everyone of our full support for the campaign against drunk driving."

"This advocacy has allowed me to actively raise awareness on the need for greater personal responsibility and highlight the dangers of drinking and driving," adds Mika Hakkinen. "I apply the same commitment to this exciting challenge as I have throughout my career on the tracks and on the streets."
