Mitsubishi Motors celebrates 100 years at 2017 Auto Expo


What to see in the 2017 Mitsubishi Auto Expo

Yesterday, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines formally opened this year's Auto Expo with the theme, 'A century of innovation'. As the automaker celebrates its 100th anniversary, MMPC has on display iconic models, as well as the chance for visitors to test out the current lineup. This year's Auto Expo takes place at the World Trade Center is Pasay City.


Greeting visitors at the entrance are some of Mitsubishi's iconic cars from classic Lancers to high-performance Evolutions. MMPC also showed a few of their significant engines which were seen not just in road cars but their rally cars as well.


This year, Mitsubishi is displaying the actual rally cars used in competition. In the show is the 1973-1974 Safari Rally winning Lancer, Penti Arrikila's rally Lancer 2000 EX, the 1985 Pajero Rally Raid Car and the Lancer Evolution WRC. Also on display is a Mitsubishi Starion Group A race car, as well as Mitsubishi's classic open wheel race car from the 70's to keep motorsport fans delighted.

Aside from the rally classics and the current lineup display, visitors can also test drive the current models from Mitsubishi, as well the iMiev electric vehicle and the Outlander PHEV. The Montero Sport Head to Head Challenge will also be running during the Expo, giving those interested in the SUV a chance to drive it against the competition.

Mitsubishi will also be holding a safety and driving etiquette program and will also be displaying the line of Fuso Trucks and Buses available in the country. More classic Mitsubishi cars will also be shown at the annual Owner's Concourse Display. Mitsubishi adds that big surprises await Mitsubishi owners on June 10.

Other events during the Expo include a children's program by Nickelodeon, activities in the Family Park and special appearances by Maine Mendoza, Alden Richards and Ramon Bautista on June 10. Music fans can also enjoy live performances of Ebe Dancel, True Faith, DJ Marx and many more. As with past Mitsubishi Auto Expos, admission is free. Gates open at 10 AM and close at 9 PM and will run until Sunday, June 11.
