The Ferrari hypercar is now available as a convertible after the Prancing Horse brand officially took the covers off the LaFerrari Aperta. Designed for the most passionate clients according to Ferrari, the LaFerrari Aperta retains the coupe's aerodynamic properties and torsional rigidity, while incorporating an open-top design.

In order to preserve the original drag coefficient, Ferrari had to tweak the exterior of the Aperta. One of the few things the automaker did was modify the beltline and change the angle of airflow towards the radiators and underbody. It also gets a longer front air dam which generates additional downforce and two small L-shaped flaps on top of the windscreen which diverts air towards the rear.

The chassis, on the other hand, has been reinforced to cope with the stresses the car will face out on the open road. Even though it's slightly heavier, Ferrari said that it has the same aerodynamic and handling properties with the coupe counterpart.

The LaFerrari Aperta will come as a soft-top as standard but customers can opt for the optional removable carbon fiber hardtop.

Inside, the open-top hypercar gets the same interior styling of the coupe but is upholstered in Starlite Alcantara, a new trim option available for the LaFerrari Aperta.

At the heart of the LaFerrari Aperta is the 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V12 that produces 800 PS. Helping it along is an electric motor which generates an extra 163 PS. With both motors in play, the LaFerrari Aperta cranks out 963 PS and nearly 900 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox.

0 - 100 km/h is acheived in less than 3 seconds and has the same top speed of the LaFerrari coupe at 350 km/h.

Ferrari will only build 209 units of the LaFerrari Aperta, all of which have already been sold. This is less than the LaFerrari coupe which saw 499 units.
