Patent reveals possible next-gen Aston Martin Vantage design

All-new Aston Martin Vantage appears to take styling cues from DB10

With the current Aston Martin Vantage being over 12-years old already, a replacement is likely just around the corner. In fact, our spies have already spotted the all-new Vantage prototype testing at the Nurburging although draped in heavy camoflauge and using parts from the DB11. A new patent filing in Japan discovered by Autoguide give us a first glimpse of what appears to be the upcoming Vantage given its length and design.

Going over the patent design, we can see that the patent sketches takes heavy design influence from the DB10 used in the James Bond movie, Spectre. The window line, headlight position, and side profile (apart from the larger fender vent) found on the patent seem to match that of the DB10's styling.

The front end meanwhile reminds us of the more hardcore track-only Vulcan given its aggressive look. At the rear, there are thin tail lights that are similar to the DB11 which appear to be integrated into the ducktail. To match the front, there is an equally aggressive rear diffuser, evidence of its sporting aspirations. In fact, the diffuser can already be seen on the protoype Vantage.

It is said that the all-new Vantage will supposedly use a shortened DB11 platform. The Vantage will also likely feature the 4.0-liter biturbo Mercedes-AMG V8, which was just made available on the DB11, and the 5.2-liter twin turbo Aston Martin V12. Transmission options meawhile may include a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox.

A reveal of the upcoming Vantage will highly likely be done within the year. Some expect it to make its world premiere at Frankfurt this coming September. No matter when it arrives, the patent drawings have given us a sneak preview on what to expect of the upcoming Vantage.
